Taiflex Scientific Co., LTD. (8039), a prominent manufacturer of flexible copper foil substrates with a global presence, has forged a significant partnership with Thailand's ENMAX Group in the realm of green power certificate trading. The agreement, signed today at Taiflex's headquarters in Kaohsiung, entails the procurement of solar energy systems and green certificates.
Committed to sustainable development and advocating for a low-carbon economy, Taiflex is embarking on its inaugural stride by transitioning its newly established facility in Thailand into a RE100-compliant green factory. Teaming up with ENMAX Group, the endeavor includes the installation of rooftop solar power systems and the signing of a ten-year pact to acquire 75 million kilowatt hours of green power certificates. This strategic move not only meets customer and international standards but also furnishes Taiflex with a tangible pathway towards achieving RE100.
ENMAX Group, specializing in renewable energy and energy-saving technologies, brings to the table years of expertise in solar system design and construction. Their cutting-edge real-time monitoring AI system ensures optimum solar power generation efficiency, with a portfolio boasting over 1,800 projects and a cumulative installation capacity of 250 megawatts.
Recognizing the global shift towards green energy and low-carbon technology, Taiflex has instituted a "Sustainable Development Center" tasked with orchestrating group-wide sustainability endeavors. Encompassing power generation, consumption, systems, industries, environmental protection, and governmental policies, this comprehensive initiative aims to attain full reliance on renewable energy, minimize carbon emissions, and foster a circular economy by 2030. With a vision aligned with RE100, carbon neutrality, and a 100% circular economy by 2050, Taiflex is steadfast in its commitment to sustainability.
The commencement of mass production at the new Taiflex factory in Thailand is slated for the second quarter of 2024, with an unveiling ceremony set for May. Once operational, the facility will serve as a benchmark for green manufacturing within the group, laying a robust groundwork for its endeavors in Southeast Asia.
